You can now test the "Empires of Apocalypse" series without riks. "Assault on Belgium" is a free on-turn mini game featuring the German conquest of Belgium in 1940. To play the game you need 2 six-sided dice. Then you have to download the following:

1. The Rules. Available as .RTF (17kb) or as .TXT (9kb)
2. The Map (as GIF-file, 163kb)
3. The Counters (one sided, as GIF-file, 53kb)
4. The Charts and Tables (as HTML file, 8kb + 10kb inline images)

You can also download a zipped package (242kb), which includes all of the above

You can print all of it from your web-browser (except the rtf-rules, of course). You should mount the counters on solid cardstock and cut them out. Be careful, else you may lose your little fingers :-)
